The Valley of Dragons

In which the young Moerdred (oblivious to his heritage) finally becomes an Acolyte of the Draconic Knights, gains a special mentor in his birth mother Sannaene, is sent to a backwater garrison (thanks to his mother’s influence), finally discovers the fabled Valley of the Dragons, gets killed, returns to life, and is finally revealed to be a Draco when he confronts Sannaene.

Things best forgotten

In which Moerdred learns of the many threats the Order will have to face; the war against the Shadowspawn in Cerilia is only one of many wars to come. Countless other dangers threaten, and it will only get worse as the Shadow’s rebirth draws closer. Moerdred gets to prowl through the dark places beneath the earth, see his companions die horribly, meet a forgotten god buried beneath a mountain, rescue his half-sister (unknown to them at the time) from certain death, and be brought before the Emperor.

Into the breech

In which Moerdred tells everyone to go to Hell and set said for Anuire and the front lines. He and Naneiwen, together with a few other survivors, are shipwrecked on the cold shores of Thaele. There they must not only find a way back home, but first survive the deadly northern winter. Moerdred and Naneiwen becomes lover, huddling together for warmth and comfort. To reach home they must first journey through an endless wilderness, face the dread awnshegh Linnorm, brave stormy seas, face court intrigue in both Halskapa, and the souls of the restless dead in Boeruine. Moerdred dies a second time at the hands of the soul known as Jin – who will later become his son’s companion. Once home Naneiwen is revealed to be a Draco (though not to Moerdred).

Stranger in a wartorn land

In which the Emperor decides to see what Moerdred is made of; he is unconvinced still, seeing as Sannaene is his mother. Ser-Templar Moerdred is thus sent to his new command located in the fortress-city of Daum, there to report for service with the 5th Empress Draconis Legion, 9th Snow-and-Blood Cohort. Naneiwen is assigned to a diplomatic station in Oden, and they rarely meet. By the end of his stay Moerdred has seen the Shadow World, fought Fallen Brethren and Thrice Chained, met his uncle, the Black Dragon, and generally proven himself both fearless and resourceful. He is recalled to Dracropolis and named Imperial Crown Prince, and ordered to join the 3rd as Cohort commander. Naneiwen has also proven herself a skilled diplomat, and is dispatched to the City of Anuire – well away from Moerdred. He leaves the Dragonholds, finds Naneiwen and marries her, and she carries his child – Michael, who is born on Mount Deismaar. They are both recalled to Dracropolis – and the truth is revealed.

Prince, general, redeemer

In which the orogs finally manage to release Atlas, creating much devastation, but also opening a route from Oeried to Alitaene. Moerdred is assigned to command the newly-created 6th Legion and move to subjugate Alitaene. The 1st and 2nd legions becomes involved in a costly war on Mor Atha, butchers hundreds of thousands of civilian Haelynites, and leaves Moerdred alone to finish the campaign – which he does by surrendering, an act which brings peace and unity between the Dragon and Alitaene. Following his ‘victory’ Moerdred dies a third time, finding it much more difficult to return this time. Moerdred also begins to collect his consorts – they have not been named such yet, but they will be. In addition to his to-be-cohorts Moerdred also institutes his own guard of fanatical warrior-priests; the Harbringers.

Harbringer

Moerdred the Younger has agreed to help the 'Mist Lady' locate and free more of her kind. To that effect Moerdred has boarded the ship along with a few of his companions, including Blaede, and a detachment of Harbringers. He hopes to find at least one other ship, seize her and put an prize crew on board, and then take her back to Ilien for refitting. With two ships under his command, he can hopefully bring back additional vessels.
Although the Mist Lady has no clear memories of her existence prior to the Battle of Ilien, she does recall the currents and winds that took her from the Blue Chapter base to the City of Sails. She thinks she can retrace her path by returning first to Ilien and then setting out from there...
